Where to stay in Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki has a long history of hospitality. A gateway between east and west and an important harbor, the city was once filled with “hans” (inns with space for animals and merchants’ wares) and a great Caravanserai in the eastern tradition. The spirit of hospitality remains, but the accommodations have improved considerably. There are many luxury hotels that cater to every taste, from formal and classic to contemporary chic. Many have stunning views of the bay of Thermaikos. There are also plenty of stylish boutique hotels, many taking advantage of the unique character of the grand period buildings they inhabit. There are fine choices of accommodation in every price category in Thessaloniki.
